Visitors using a wheelchair
Dublin Contemporary 2011 at Earlsfort Terrace was fully accessible to visitors using a wheelchair.
Accessible bathrooms were found on each floor.
Visitors who are blind or partially-sighted
Dublin Contemporary Described
We invited blind and partially sighted visitors to join us for Dublin Contemporary 2011 Described, which explored some of the highlights of Dublin Contemporary using audio-description and touch.
These tours took place on 22nd September and October 20th at 6.30pm.
Tours cost €5 and booking was essential.

Assistance dogs were welcome at Dublin Contemporary. A drinking bowl could be requested at reception.
Booklets containing large-print versions of all wall-labels were available throughout the exhibition. Front of house staff or volunteers were happy to provide more information.
Visitors who are Deaf or hard of hearing
Assistive Listening Devices
Assistive listening headsets and loop devices were available for selected Highlights Tours, Ten-Minute Talks and Tour, Talk & Tea events. For further information, one could contact Bairbre-Ann (Access Officer) at bairbre-ann@dublincontemporary.com.
Irish Sign Language Events
Tour: Dublin Contemporary welcomed visitors who use Irish Sign Language to an ISL-interpreted tour on Saturday September 10th 2011 at 3pm.
Tours cost €5, or was free with a valid exhibition ticket. Booking was essential.

Artist Talk: Dublin Contemporary artist Amanda Coogan discussed her work through Irish Sign Language on Saturday 22nd October 2011. This talk was interpreted for a hearing audience.

Visitors with Dementia
Discovering Dublin Contemporary
Dublin Contemporary welcomed people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia and their family members to join us for a specially tailored interactive programme where participants could explore and talk about some of the highlights of the exhibition.
These tours took place on Tuesday 27th September and Tuesday 18th October 2011 at 2pm
This programme was free of charge but advanced registration was required.
