mounir fatmi’s work deals with the desecration of religious object, deconstruction and the end of dogmas and ideologies. He is particularly interested in the idea of death of the subject of consumption. His videos, installations, drawings, paintings and sculptures bring to light our doubts, fears and desires. fatmi’s work has been exhibited at, among other venues, Tate Modern, London 2008; Mori Art Museum, Tokyo 2006 and the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris 2005. fatmi also participated in the 10th Biennial of Lyon 2009; the 52nd Venice Biennial 2007; the 8th Biennial of Sharjah 2007 and the 2nd Seville Biennial 2006. He was awarded the Cairo Biennial Prize in 2010.
